Lengths

Delivery lengths ranging from 9 to 18.4 m (30.000 to 60.000 ft) can be arranged.

Starting material

To ensure uniform high quality of our products we buy all our starting material from premium steel producers, notably Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, our dependable partner of many years.

Our company uses exclusively coils (with a unit weight of up to 50 t) rolled from continuously cast slabs. All process parameters that govern the properties of the steel are controlled and documented by process computers. Comprehensive quality checks both at our and our partners' plants ensure that we get the ideal starting material for our tube production.

The starting material is manufactured to the specified chemical analysis as well as customer and project requirements.

Standards & materials

We produce our steel pipes in accordance with internationally recognized standards and use different, carefully selected materials depending on the application. You will find various standards and the materials specified therein under the following link. Further standards can be agreed on request. Additionally, properties and materials outside the usual standards can be specified and agreed. Our Technical Customer Support will support you in all matters relating to material selection and technology.

Coatings & linings

During a service life extending over many decades, large-diameter pipes are frequently exposed to environmental extremes. Therefore, reliable coatings for protection against corrosion and mechanical damage are indispensable in most cases. We provide our pipes with coatings and/or linings to customer requirements and/or in line with applicable standards. Besides passive corrosion protection, an epoxy lining reduces the surface roughness on the pipe inside surface – and thus the flow resistance – to a minimum, which is particularly beneficial in the case of gas pipelines.

Environmental documentation

Mannesmann Grossrohr has implemented a program to calculate the CO2 equivalent and energy consumption for all orders that have already been produced. This allows us to determine the actual CO2 footprint per order using the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for hot-rolled strip and the specific consumption data within our company.

With an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 for spiral-welded large-diameter pipes we make all relevant environmental information regarding our products available to the public. Their publication by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) includes a review and verification by an independent third party.

Delivery & shipment

We manufacture our pipes to individual project requirements and customer specifications. Among the hallmarks of our service is schedule reliability: we supply our pipes whenever and wherever needed.

Whether road, rail or waterway transport: our long-established logistics structures are specifically aligned to professional loading, friction-less transportation, and safe stacking at the pipe-laying sites. To prevent damage, we use exclusively vacuum beams when loading at our works premises.

Besides our own extensive links to the public rail network, we can rely on experienced logistics partners, such as VPS Verkehrsbetriebe Peine-Salzgitter, Deutsche Bahn, Captrain Deutschland, as well as regional service providers and international carriers.

In the event of unforeseen project delays, we also offer intermediate storage on our 130,000 m² works premises.
