Our research begins in dialogue with our customers: We support technologies from the initial concept through to implementation, jointly developing solutions for the most demanding applications, and testing them under real-world conditions in our own testing facilities. This application-oriented product development ensures our leading position: In the quality of our steel tubes, in the diversity of their applications, and through innovative manufacturing technologies.

We actively help shape new standards – in national and international standards-setting bodies, as well as in the development of new materials, testing methods, and testing equipment. 

In doing so, we work closely with partners within the Group, such as Salzgitter Flachstahl, a manufacturer of starting materials for pipe manufacture, and Salzgitter Mannesmann Forschung.

The result: integrated expertise in materials and process development, surface technology, corrosion protection, and engineering and application technology – expertise that drives both our customers and us forward.
