Since the invention of the first process for rolling seamless steel tubes by Reinhard and Max Mannesmann, Mannesmann companies have further developed a wide variety of manufacturing processes for steel tubes and pipes, often setting industry-wide standards. This broad expertise is the basis for our current, finely tuned manufacturing processes for various tube and pipe technologies and the high quality of our products.
We manufacture steel tubes and pipes in accordance with widespread common standards and can often reliably meet customer specifications that go beyond standard requirements. Depending on the application, it is possible to choose from a broad range of materials. In addition to materials specified in manufacturing standards, we are also happy to offer you optimized material concepts on request.
Throughout the entire production process, we constantly inspect every single tube and pipe to ensure that all of our customers' requirements are fulfilled. A wide range of destructive and non-destructive tests are available for this purpose. Continuous recording and evaluation of test results and the measures derived from them enable us to maintain our high quality standards with process reliability.
Pipe-laying methods
Depending on their dimensions, Mannesmann pipes are laid using a variety of methods. The specific requirements are determined by our customers’ individual specifications – both for the steel pipe itself and for the coating. Thanks to our specialized expertise and our integrated operations, we are also able to reliably meet individual or very demanding pipe specifications.
Depending on the pipe size and operating conditions, steel allows for various connection methods and thus offers different degrees of flexibility for installation and subsequent operation. Mannesmann offers a range of connection options – from flexible mechanical couplings to permanent welded joints such as butt welds.
