Description

"HP tubes" is a general term for cylindrical tubes that have been machined to a specified ISO tolerance on the inside, primarily through scratching and roll polishing or through honing. They are characterized by high surface quality and definable mechanical properties. Mannesmann offers a wide range of materials for seamless precision steel tubes for hydraulic and pneumatic applications.

Lengths

The supplied lengths are subject to the following distinctions:

a) Production lengths between 4 and 7 m (13.123 - 22.966 ft) are supplied - unless otherwise agreed. The lengths per order item are not permitted to vary by more than 2 m (6.561 ft).

b) Fixed lengths with a permissible deviation from the ordered length of ± 500 mm (1.64 ft). Up to 10 % of the delivered quantity may deviate from the fixed length, but not by more than 2 m (6.561 ft).

c) Cut-to-length. Extremely narrow tolerances can be agreed for the ordered length.

Standards & materials

We produce our steel tubes in accordance with internationally recognized standards and use different, carefully selected materials depending on the application. You will find various standards and the materials specified therein under the following link. Further standards can be agreed on request. Additionally, properties and materials outside the usual standards can be specified and agreed. Our Technical Customer Support will support you in all matters relating to material selection and technology.

Tube processing

In addition to a machining of the inner diameter, other finishing operations are available. These include:

  • Cutting to fixed lengths
  • End machining, such as weld bevels
  • Cross holes
  • Circumferential grooves
  • Threads
