Description

The transport of CO2 - especially in its dense phase - places the highest demands on pipeline pipes. Thanks to the use of high-quality raw materials and specially designed manufacturing processes, our steel pipes reliably meet all the requirements for this demanding application.

Lengths

The following delivery lengths are distinguished:

a) Mill lengths between 8 and 18 m are manufactured according to customer requirements. Due to the production process, minor manufacturing tolerances must be considered.

b) Fixed lengths with a permissible deviation from the ordered length of ± 500 mm. Up to 5–10% of the delivery quantity may deviate from the specified fixed length.

c) Exact lengths with the possibility to agree on tight tolerances for the ordered length.

Low CO2 Steel Grades

Together with our prematerial suppliers, Mannesmann Line Pipe GmbH is driving the transition towards a climate-neutral future. We are happy to advise you on our steel pipe solutions made from steel with a reduced carbon footprint.

Testing

Additional testing beyond standard requirements can be carried out according to customer specifications.

External coating

Our pipes can be equipped with various external coatings directly at the mill. Typical systems that can be applied include:

  • HDPE or PP, also available in special designs according to customer requirements

  • FZM-S

  • HDPE + GRP

  • FBE + ARO

These factory-applied coating systems form the basis for sustainable corrosion protection and can be specifically tailored to the respective operating conditions.

MAPEC® 3-layer coating

The basis for many applications is our MAPEC® 3-layer coating, consisting of an epoxy primer, an adhesive layer, and a top layer made of polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP). It provides reliable corrosion protection combined with high mechanical resistance.

Advanced coating systems for demanding conditions

Depending on project requirements, the coating systems can be adapted or extended:

  • Additional fibre cement mortar coatings enhance mechanical protection, particularly in challenging soil conditions

  • Special surface designs such as rough-coat or ribbed profiles improve friction and abrasion behavior, for example in trenchless installation methods

  • Polypropylene-based systems enable operation at elevated temperatures

Exact lengths

Our pipes are supplied directly from production in lengths ranging from 8 to 18 meters. This enables efficient installation with reduced welding effort and optimized on-site logistics.

For applications with specific installation requirements or limited space, shorter pipe lengths can also be provided via our Pipe Service Center.

This ensures that our products not only meet the highest quality standards but also integrate seamlessly into your project workflows.

 

Beveling according to customer requirements

For optimal further processing and reliable welding, we offer a variety of bevel designs. The execution is carried out individually in accordance with customer specifications and tailored to the respective application and selected joining technology.

Installation techniques / Laying Methods

With appropriate protection systems, our pipes are suitable for all common trenchless installation methods as well as conventional construction techniques.

They have already been successfully used in virtually all installation methods – both onshore and offshore.

Thanks to tight diameter tolerances within a production batch, they also provide optimal conditions for automated welding processes.
