The success story began in 2000 when Salzgitter AG took over the long-established and renowned Mannesmannröhren-Werke from the former Mannesmann group. A decisive step that was to have far-reaching significance.

The thriving steel tube business swiftly developed into one of the key pillars of the present-day Salzgitter steel and technology group. The tube activities are combined in the Tubes Division. Mannesmannröhren-Werke GmbH manages and coordinates all the tube companies directly. The integration of the Tubes Division into the Salzgitter Group is evident from the fact that its operating (consolidated) companies show Salzgitter and Mannesmann as an integral part of their names.
